In the project, The Ecosage Circle,
many youth and many adults try to improve their actions in order to
help the environment. If you decide to join this project, you will
become a hero of change, or an ecosage, that is, you will develop
one or many behaviours respectful of the environment.
As well, the participating classes will be
able to engage themselves in the NatureWatch programs. Researchers
in Canada use these programs to monitor flowers, lady beetles, ice,
worms and frogs. These species indicate if changes in the climate
are occurring in a region. Participation in these programs will
give you the opportunity to learn outside the classroom and to increase
your knowledge of these species.
Ecosages are found in the 4 Atlantic
provinces and are from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Even your teacher
can become an ecosage. The ecosages are in contact with
one another through a bulletin board found on this website.
