Question 12: Are there any noteworthy events that influenced your career?
There’s an event that occurred not too long ago, well it was about three or four years ago. I read a piece by Lord Tennyson where he says that if we knew everything there was to know about a flower, a simple flower, that we would know exactly what the universe was made of. As a consequence, I told myself that creating works that represented a flower, it was impossible for me to depict exactly what a flower could be. In other words, I couldn’t depict the universe as such. So at that point I decided that instead of painting the flower, I would paint my interaction with the flower or my interaction with a landscape or my interaction with a person.
