Question 13: Does your everyday environment stimulate your creativity? In what way?
I live in a small place, actually a small town of 2000 people. I used to live out in the country in a house that was once the house of another artist so I thought there was a little bit of karma there. It’s not a big urban center, it’s on the fringes, and I think it gives me the space and the time I need to think. It also allows me to have a lifestyle in which I have the time to make art; I’m not always worried about making ends meet. So I have the luxury of taking time to dedicate a month or more, whenever I need to, to my art making practice. And not being overwhelmed with a big art scene, I think it allows me to really get confident with my own ideas and follow the directions that I want to follow, and not be overly influenced with everything else that’s going on around me.
