I’ll give the standard answer: the occupation chose me. First of all I’m rather an anti-conformist. A 9 to 5 job is the worst thing I can think of for killing people. I’ve got trouble fitting well in all environments, and I like to be free and able to operate freely. Although as artists, you work a lot more than 9 to 5, but on a different schedule, like 11 to 11 or later, and often on week-ends. We do it because we like what we do. Personally, I think that it’s the freedom more than anything else that drew me into art.
