Question 13: Does your everyday environment stimulate your creativity? In what way?

The environment in which I live allows me to fund my own artistic production. Because I also work as a child psychologist. So that this salary allows me to pay for my studio, the material and to work. It also gives me a certain freedom in terms of my work because I have a certain financial stability. In that sense, yes the environment in which I work is important because it allows me to produce a lot. And the environment I’m in is also characterized as francophone. For me that’s important, the francophonie is important, because first of all it’s my first language and I don’t want to give it up. It’s important for me to have easy access to French libraries and bookstores, French radio stations, television, talk to people in French, it’s important. So that the environment as such… Having said that I could be in Vancouver and probably do the same thing that I’m doing today, if I could create the right conditions there. So I don’t think that it’s the environment that determines but rather you, in the environment you’re in. That’s more or less how I see it.
