Question 1: When and how did you realize you wanted to be an artist?
Well, in fact, I was born on the north coast of the Gaspé Peninsula, in Mont-Louis, a small village of fishermen and forest workers. I spent my childhood building toys because across from my home, there was a woodworking shop. They let me pick out leftovers and I made all kinds of things. All through my childhood, I created installations, built toys, things like that. So I think that is the time that I started to like making things. In 1974, I found out there was a school of sculpture in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, a wood-carving school, and I registered there. I’ve been in sculpture ever since.
