Question 14: Why do you continue to live in Atlantic Canada instead of moving to an area that affords a larger distribution network for your art?

I’ve chosen to live in Atlantic Canada which is also my native area. This is where I’ve got my roots, my family, the community I live in. I’ve chosen this community for my work also. What I really want to do is to give myself the opportunity to live life intensely, as intensely as possible, in the hope that it will be reflected in my work. There’s always somebody who will end up wanting to buy my work. If mine are Acadian pieces rather than European or Asiatic, all the better, the important thing is that they are being shown. I like to work within my Acadian community. I like to get recognition for my work but I don’t consider it a priority.
